Siwinski's
experiments with moulded plastics in the mid-sixties resulted in
a series of hemispheric fibreglass or Plexiglass chairs with either
pedestal or drum bases. While the designs are typical of the period,
they are remarkable for their execution, which Siwinski controlled
from moulding to upholstery. Fewer than fifty chairs were made,
but they were widely photographed and appeared in publications like
The New York Times Magazine in July 1967.
